Research Interests

My research interests are focused on utilizing microfossil proxies and geological techniques to better understand past climate and environmental conditions. Specific areas of interest include:

  • Marine Micropaleontology - I have extensive experience using foraminifera and calcareous nannofossils to address questions related to biostratigraphy, paleoecology, and paleoclimatology. These microfossils are excellent recorders of past ocean conditions.
  • Cenozoic Depositional Environments - Reconstructing the sequence stratigraphy and depositional environments of Cenozoic marine sediments around the world through integrated micropaleontological and sedimentological analysis.
  • Miocene Stratigraphy and Climate - My work has examined various aspects of Miocene paleoclimate reconstruction using biostratigraphic, paleoclimatic and sequence stratigraphic approaches applied to Miocene sections globally.
  • Going forward, I aim to continue developing high-resolution microfossil-based climate proxies and applying multidisciplinary techniques to address important issues in paleoceanography, paleoclimate modeling, and improving our understanding of Earth's climate system over geological timescales.
