تتمثل رسالة برنامج الجيولوجيا والكيمياء في إعداد خريج مؤهل علي تطبيقات الجيولوجيا والكيمياء علي مستوي مميز من الكفاءه والقيم الاسلاميه في ضوء ما تحمله رسالة الأزهر الشريف من الوسطية والأعتدال والقدرة علي المنافسة فى سوق العمل والقيام بدور فعال فى حل المشاكل التي تواجه البيئة وخدمة المجتمع والارتقاء بمستوي البحث العلمي.
أهداف برنامج الجيولوجيا والكيمياء
فى إطار ما تقوم به الدولة من إنشاء المشروعات القومية الجديدة فى مجالات الصناعات المختلفة وفتح آفاق جديدة فى رفع كفاءة الثروات المعدنية وعدم تصدير المواد الخام إلا بعد تصنيعيها ومايترتب علي ذلك من رفع كفئتها وقيمتها الأقتصادية وإستخداماتها الكيميائية والصناعية ولذلك قام برنامج الجيولوجيا والكيمياء بتحديث الرسالة والاهداف ومواصفات الخريج بالإضافة إلي تحديث مقررات البرنامج لكي تتماشي مع التنمية المستدامه التي تقوم بها الدولة .
- تتلخص أهداف البرنامج فى المحاور ألأساسية التالية
- تأهيل الطلاب لتقدير واستغلال الجيولوجيا والكيمياء التطبيقية فى المجالات البيئية والمشاريع الاقتصادية القومية.
- رفع كفائة واداء خريجي البرنامج من خلال استخدام تقنيات حديثة متطورة ليصبح مؤهلا للمنافسة فى سوق العمل محليا ودوليا.
- تعزيز التواصل بين القسم والكلية والمسؤلين بالمصانع والشركات والمراكز البحثية العلمية لتحقيق التجانس بين مستوي الخريج ومتطلبات العمل المتميزة.
- اكساب الطلاب مهارات ادارة المخاطر وذلك باعداد كوادر مؤهلة للتخلص من النفايات والمعادن الثقيلة الضارة بالبيئة ومعالجتها كيميائيا من اجل الحفاظ علي البيئة.
- امداد الخريجين باخلاقيات البحث العلمي ومهارات الحفاظ علي البيئة والتشريعات المتعلقة بذلك وذلك من خلال برامج التوعية.
- اعداد طلاب متميزين فى المعارف والتقنيات الخاصة بعلم الجيولوجيا وعلم الكيمياء وعلاقتهم بالنظام البيئي وكيفية استخدام الاجهزة العلمية اللازمة لذلك
- وضع مقررات جديدة فى الكيمياء والجيولوجيا مماثلة لمقررات المؤسسات العالمية الشهيرة.
- اختيار اعضاء هيئة تدريس من ذات الخبرات المتعددة والواسعة لاعداد خريجين قادرين علي استخدام المهارات العلمية البحثية من خلال العمل الجماعي
- اعداد وتهيئة الخريجين للعمل بمراكز الطاقة الذرية وهيئة المواد النووية ومراكز بحوث البناء والاسكان ومركز بحوث الصحراء وكيفية التعرف علي المعادن المشعة وكذلك استخدام المعادن الاقتصادية فى الاغراض الطبية واعدادهم لمواصلة الدرسات العليا.
- العمل علي كسب ثقة المجتمع ومؤسساته فى خريجي برنامج الجيولوجيا والكيمياء والانتقال لمستوى جديد من المساهمة الفاعلة في الجهود المبذوله لحماية البيئة واستدامتها.

Mission of the Geology and Chemistry Program
The mission of the Geology and Chemistry Program is to prepare graduates who are proficient in the applications of geology and chemistry at a high level of competence and Islamic values in light of Al-Azhar University's message of moderation. Graduates will be capable of competing in the labor market, playing an effective role in solving environmental problems, serving the community, and advancing the level of scientific research.
Objectives of the Geology and Chemistry Program
In light of the state's efforts to establish new national projects in various industries and open new horizons for enhancing the efficiency of mineral resources, the Geology and Chemistry Program has updated its mission, goals, and graduate specifications, in addition to updating the program’s courses to align with the state's sustainable development efforts.
- The program's objectives are summarized in the following key points:
- Prepare students to appreciate and exploit applied geology and chemistry in environmental fields and national economic projects.
- Enhance the efficiency and performance of program graduates by using advanced modern techniques to become competitive in the local and international job market.
- Promote communication between the department, the college, industry leaders, and research centers to achieve harmony between graduate levels and distinguished job requirements.
- Equip students with risk management skills by preparing qualified personnel to dispose of and chemically treat hazardous waste and heavy metals to protect the environment.
- Provide graduates with scientific research ethics, environmental preservation skills, and related legislation through awareness programs.
- Prepare students with outstanding knowledge and techniques in geology and chemistry, their relationship with the ecosystem, and the use of necessary scientific instruments.
- Introduce new courses in chemistry and geology similar to those of renowned global institutions.
- Select faculty members with diverse and extensive expertise to prepare graduates capable of using scientific research skills through teamwork.
- Prepare and equip graduates to work in nuclear energy centers, nuclear materials authorities, construction and housing research centers, desert research centers, identify radioactive minerals, use economic minerals in medical applications, and prepare them for further studies.
