Profile

I am a Professor of Geochemistry of minerals and rocks in the Geology Department, Faculty of Science, Al-Azhar University. My academic and research pursuits are deeply entrenched in the realm of rock and minerals chemistry, encompassing comprehensive field geology studies and rigorous laboratory analyses. My primary focus revolves around the systematic evaluation of economic raw materials and their industrial applications, along with the quest for alternative mineral ores and rocks that can be sourced and utilized cost-effectively.

In the field, I conduct extensive geology studies, conducting thorough field surveys and employing advanced techniques in sampling to gather crucial geological data. These hands-on approaches enable me to decipher the natural occurrence, distribution patterns, and geological contexts of mineral resources. Such field studies are pivotal in identifying potential raw materials and assessing their economic feasibility.

In the laboratory, my expertise extends to petrographic studies, geochemical analyses, and mineralogical investigations. Utilizing sophisticated methods such as petrographic microscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), electron probe microanalysis (EPMA), and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), I meticulously analyze the chemical compositions, physical properties, and mineralogical characteristics of rocks and minerals. These analyses facilitate the determination of their suitability for diverse industrial applications, ranging from construction materials to specialized industrial minerals.

A significant facet of my research involves pioneering efforts in exploring alternative mineral ores and rocks. This endeavor is motivated by the imperative to discover sustainable and cost-effective alternatives to conventional raw materials. By exploring untapped geological resources and developing innovative processing techniques, I strive to mitigate industrial costs and advance environmental sustainability goals. In addition to my research endeavors, I am actively engaged in teaching and mentoring students at Al-Azhar University. I integrate cutting-edge research findings into the curriculum, equipping students with profound knowledge and practical skills in the field of geology. I supervise and guide undergraduate and graduate research projects, fostering an environment conducive to critical thinking and scientific inquiry.

My contributions to the field are well-documented through a plethora of publications in esteemed peer-reviewed journals, presentations at prestigious international conferences, and fruitful collaborations with industry partners. I am steadfastly committed to advancing the understanding of geological materials and their industrial applications, while cultivating a dynamic and innovative research milieu within the Geology Department at Al-Azhar University.
